A parent-led advocacy group committed to supporting adults with developmental disabilities and high support needs to live with dignity and “informed” choice in their communities.
What’s happening now? Across Illinois, thousands go without needed support due to systemic barriers, unequal access, and limited services and supports.
Many remain stuck on wait lists or live at home with aging caregivers, receiving little to no additional support.
Too often, many are pushed aside or “placed in a bed” in a state institution or a nursing home at very young ages.
Real, viable community “supported living” options just as many other states already provide!
The answer is clear: We need to stand up and come together to ensure our loved ones are seen, heard, and have their civil rights upheld, with the supports they need to live as valued members in their home communities.
To advance policies, systems, and funding in Illinois to ensure that everyone, including those with the most complex support needs, has the right to live with dignity and real choice in their own home.

A future where every person with a developmental disability, regardless of medical, physical, or behavioral challenges, has the right and support to live safely, with dignity and choice, in their own home and community. They are free to decide where, how, and with whom they live.
